im pregnant, and have a daughter who will be 3 years old when this baby is born. we saved most of her baby things so we don’t really need much other than clothes (only if its a boy), diapers, wipes soaps, little things like that. would it still be ok to have a shower for this one. not so much for gifts but to just celebrate a new life. if it is ok how would you put that it isn’t necessary to bring gifts on the invitations? how many of you had showers for your second child?

I’m about to start my third summer in Oklahoma. The sun here is hideous, so is the heat. The first year, I used Water Babies, 45 SPF and it melted off in the heat and I spent the summer burnt.
Last year, I used Neutrogena body mist sunblock, 45 SPF and it was supposed to be waterproof. It might be, but it sure wasn’t sweat proof. I was the color of a lobster all summer.
Now, I’m about to start a third summer here. If it wasn’t for temperatures that are regularly in the 100+ range, I would consider a wide brimmed hat. But the heat that holds in on top of my head makes my reaction to the heat worse.
What is a good, high SPF sunscreen or sunblock that won’t melt off or sweat off? Is there such a thing? Or do I just resolve myself to being the color of a lobster and worry about sun damage and skin cancer some more this year?
Help!

My daughter has been using Burt’s Bee shampoo wash since she was born (now 13 weeks) but lately has really dry skin. Anyone used any really moisturizing natural/cruelty free baby soaps?

no no no baby shampoo is really bad for your hair it strips it of nutrients, the reason it says gentle is because it is the same ph as your eyes so if you get it in them you don’t have the burn you do with most shampoo, but it blows open the cuticle on your hair making it less dense and more brittle

Of course, she’s been OUTSIDE before but never for an extended period of time, but it’s SUCH a nice day outside today (it’s been so cold and rainy for the past 2 weeks) and I would LOVE to go for a walk with her in the stroller, or maybe get out the baby pool, and get inside with her. But is she too young? It’s really sunny out, and I know she needs sunscreen, but can you put sunscreen on an infant this young? Please help
