Is It Too Soon To Take My 3 1/2 Month Old Outside?

Of course, she’s been OUTSIDE before but never for an extended period of time, but it’s SUCH a nice day outside today (it’s been so cold and rainy for the past 2 weeks) and I would LOVE to go for a walk with her in the stroller, or maybe get out the baby pool, and get inside with her. But is she too young? It’s really sunny out, and I know she needs sunscreen, but can you put sunscreen on an infant this young? Please help

Of course she can stay outside. Just make sure she doesn’t get too hot. Keep her out of the direct sun, try a hat or something. The sunscreen I have says 3+months on it. And I am sure she would love the baby pool, but you need to set it up and let the water warm in the sun before taking her in or it will be too cold.
Its perfectly fine to take your young one out. My baby is three months old and everyday that it is warm we take him outside I even let him play and lay in the dirt. I talked to my pedi about it and he said that this was great. That if a baby is exposed to the outside world a little each day and extended periods on nice days that my son will not get sick as often
Sunscreen can be put on after the baby is 6 months…I am from Canada and its only +19 (Celsius) here so I don’t know where you are or the temp..It would help to know if the pool is a good idea…I think a walk is a great idea though! Just dress her with one more layer then what you would wear…Have fun and enjoy the nice day!!
The pediatrician told us not to use sunscreen until 6mos. Until then try to stay out of the sun as much as possible. Go outside and have a good time — just don’t stay out too long. Use the stroller’s sunshade (if it has one) and dress your little one in light clothing that covers most of her skin — don’t forget a hat.
Of course she’s not too young!
Take her outside. You both need fresh air. She’s too young for sunscreen, so just keep her in the shade most of the time. Your stroller should have a canopy. (A few minutes in the sun is fine — and good for her. She needs it for vitamin D.)
You can take her outside, just make sure she is properly dressed and not in direct sunlight. NO sunscreen or bug repellant until she is 6 months old. Thats what my doc told me. Also, make sure she is wearing a hat. Go enjoy your walk!
I don’t think so. Just try it, if she reacts badly then you will know not to next time!
My wife was walking on walks with both kids by a month old. Fresh air never hurt anyone
Just use a sunscreen that’s meant for babies and it’ll all be ok!!
