We are heading to the beach for a little family fun in the sun. But I’m not sure what to pack along for my 4 month old baby girl. Do I need sunscreen or what. To protect my babys skin. Also is it safe for her to be in a pool with me, that has chlorine and other chemcials. HELP ME!! And thanks!

I wouldn’t use any un-natural sunscreens on myself let alone on a baby.
Also, don’t use a product containing titanium dioxide which claims to be natural. Zinc oxide is better and safer. the only sunscreen I know of that contains zinc oxide is UV Natural. From my research, I believe that UV Natural is the only high performance sunscreen out there that is safe to apply to a baby’s skin under the age of 6 months.
Of course you need sunscreen for her… and for the rest of you!! You should all wear sunscreen to protect your skin if you are going to be out in the sun at the beach. And yes, it is safe for her to be in the pool with you, but the chlorine will probably dry out her skin a lot, so make sure you have some good moisturizer with you. Also, make sure she is stayed hydrated while you are outside AND make sure you have a good sun hat for her to wear so she doesn’t get burned.
don’t worry too much make sure you have a sunscreen of 30 or above, a hat will protect her head….remember if you are swinning the sunscreen comes off you may need to re-appy it often (every 30 MIN) Have Fun!!!
I’m not sure because all sunblock bottles say don’t use before baby is six months old. call your doctor.
babies can go in the pool, just lotion her up before with sunscreen. I would being a mini tent to the beach. You can set it up and keep your baby out of the sun for naps and things. I would also say some litte sunglasses for sun protection, but also flying sand!! Sand in your eye hurts!!
Good luck and have a safe trip!
your baby will be fine if they have a baby pool they lower the chlorine levels in pools for babies so it doesnt harm their skin , you can also buy roll on sunscreen for babies it should be in the sunscreen section of your supermarket its easy to apply and gentle on babies soft skin , also get your baby a sunsmart swim suit to protect her from the sun and a hat of course .
hope you enjoy your holiday
Use sunblock, they have the baby kind that won’t sting the eyes.
Don’t worry about the chlorine, just give her a bath after swimming and use a good baby moisturizer afterwards.
We have traveled numerous times with our daughters and have been in swimming pools since they were about 5 months (her uncle lives in Puerto Vallarta).
Don’t leave her unattended and do not rely on floaters or flotation devices to keep her in the water.
Just relax, chill out and enjoy your vacation
Yes she can go in the pool make sure you have a sun hat for her. Apply sun screen about 30 minutes before you go in the sun and again every hour to keep her from burning. Also bring swim diapers for her to wear in the pool. Be careful when applying the sunscreen though most say they are for children over 6 months of age, you may want to give your pediatrician a call and see if they recommend a certain brand.
Yes puts alot of sunscreen on that baby. Make sure you get her ears and her scalp they burn very easy. I sure hope it isn’t a far drive for you. I took my 8 month old on vacation and the drive was hell. I flew back it was so bad but then a jack*** in front of me that kept getting mad cause she was kicking the seat. Like I can help that. The pool will not hurt her. She probably won’t be able to be in long. Just make sure you get her out when she starts to shiver.
