At What Age Is It Ok To Start Using Scented Lotions Etc. On A Baby?

My son is 6 weeks old. So far all I have used on him is Johnson’s Baby Wash. I would like to start using other baby products. Is now a good time to try them or is it better to wait?

One of the baby books I read said to wait until at least 6 months old, because the baby’s skin is still very thin and delicate. The different chemicals in the lotions can permeate too quickly into the body. I just use Johnson’s Baby Wash on my 5 month old too, and that’s it. He still smells so wonderful! =)
personally, my son had reactions to everything with scents in them. He’s 3.5 and he still does, just like me
All you can do is try it and see what his skin does.
That is fine! I have used Johnson’s and Huggies baby wash and lotions on my girls from the start, and we haven’t had any problems.
If you are concerned, Huggies has a line of Extra Sensitive Baby wash, disposable wash cloths, and lotion.
Apply a little (lotion) on your baby’s arm couple times and see if there any allergy reaction. Johnson baby lotion did not work well with my son. Best wish!
