Irritation “down There” From Scented Soap?

Well, I washed down there.
For the past couple weeks I’ve been using Johnson’s baby wash, and it was fine.
But today I used a scented body wash, and it stung badly.
It hurt to pee afterwards as well.
Is it because of the perfume in the soap?

Yes scented soap can do that. Don’t use it again!
You probably don’t need any soap down there at all. If you want it then stick to plain/mild soap.

A lot of soaps have perfumes that can irritate the mucus membrane (yes that is what the tissue there is) it is not a good idea for women to wash with soaps that contain perfumes or dyes, Ivory has neither and it is not drying to the tissue, it also comes in a body wash if you prefer a liquid soap. Also watch the type of toilet paper you use the same problem can arise there as well, make sure it contains no powder or perfume.
That happened to me too. I had a problem with frequent urinary tract infections. My gynecologist told me to never use anything other than unscented soap for the genitals. She suggested dove unscented. I keep a bar on the tub just for that purpose and have had no more problems! You might have a urinary tract infection too, drink lots of water and some cranberry juice if you can stomach it (yuck!) and you can take some AZO for the pain. If it doesn’t go away in a few days see a doctor for some medicine to get rid of it.
I never knew that perfumed soap could cause irritation till my daughter was born. She couldn’t even use bubble bath and for a kid that is torture. Poor thing. She has sensitive skin and can’t handle the perfume in the soaps. I was told to wash her in dial or ivory soap and no more baths.
Use all natural
Yes, it could be the reason. The perfume and scent may be to strong for you. Go back to what you were using and see if there is change. If it doesn’t go back to normal then try no scent. If that doesn’t work then go to the doctor.
This has happened to me
Dont do it again…. but i have a solution for the mean time
you neeed to fill up the back and just sit in it for a little
CLEAN WATER!!!
this should clean the area, then try peeing again.
i hope this helps
yeah that happened to me too i broke out in a real bad rash from it but thats because i found out a week later that i was allergic to the soap now that hurts like a *****
I NEVER use perfume soaps. They just don’t work well with that sensitive area. You are irritated right now and it was definitely from the perfume soap. Don’t use it anymore.
more than likely, because really your not supposed to use any kind of perfumed soaps. you really should use something like unscented dove in the bar soap.some women are just too sensitive to use different kinds of things like that
it could be, stick with baby wash or summers eve/masengil wash.
yes, I use Dove for Sensitive skin.
could be.
