When Do You Start Washing Babys Hair?

My daughter is four weeks old and I was just wondering at what age do you start washing their hair with baby shampoo or should I just stick to plain water?
this must be a new rule b/c with all 4 of my kids I washed their hair from when I brought them home with baby shampoo. I only washed it though about 2-3 times per week
I started washing her hair as soon as I got home. She had a lot of hair when she was born, and the L&D nurses didn’t do a thorough job at washing her hair, and when I got home, she still had vernix in her hair. Yeah gross. Up until her cord fell off, I used the huggies wash cloths with the soap in it, and kinda held her over a big bowl of warm water to wash her hair. Once the cord fell off, I gave her baths, and always used the hypoallergenic soap.
i guess i didn’t realize you were not supposed to. so i guess um i always washed my daughters hair. at the hospital they used johnson and johnson. the bottle says gentle enough for a newborn.
i would wash it whenever you feel comfortable doing it.

we washed her hair since her first bath at home. our baby had hair so we wanted to wash it. im sure if your baby was bald you would debate about washing hair thats not there with shampoo.. if its a bald baby i would still wash their head but maybe just use the body wash on their scalp instead of the baby shampoo.
even when i was giving her sponge baths i was washing her hair with shampoo so as long as you can get it all out you can wash it now. If you are african american you may need to wait so you dont dry out her hair.
start washing their hair as soon as they actually have hair babies can get pretty dirty
My son has tons of hair(as you can see in the picture) and I wash his with Johnson baby shampoo and it smells really good
I washed my daughters hair with baby shampoo right away, and her body with baby soap.
MY daughter is 5 weeks and we have always washed her hair. We have head to toe wash and we wash her from head to toe!
You just use the all over baby shampoo, for head to toe.
Right away. My son got his hair washed to wash out all the gunk:) Use the Baby Wash for hair and body.
Toss them in the washer on the delicate cycle.
The day my daughter was born we washed her hair with Johnson’s baby shampoo.
