esp if you breastfeed (including bathing and play/cuddling time). Also when you’re changing baby’s poop diapers, how many wipes do you use in one session? Do you always use soap and water when possible? How many baby wash clothes do you use? (particulary if you have a boy; or if you have a girl your answers are still welcome of course =]) Thank you.
9 months next week with my perfect little boy

When my baby was first born it was the same thing, night & day, change her diaper, nurse, burp, change her diaper, sleep, change her diaper, nurse, burp, changer her diaper, etc.
When she got a little older and stayed awake more during the day we would have tummy time on the floor or I would take her outside to get some fresh air and we would sit on the swing. I was so exhausted sometimes we would nap together, but usually when she slept I tried to get a few things cleaned up around the house. I would alternate her during the day (as she got older) from the floor, to her swing, to her bouncy chair, to me holding her, just to give her some variety and keep her bottom from getting sore.
We only did wipe down sponge baths until her cord fell off and totally healed. After that we started bathing her everynight, but we only use soap every other night, so 3 nights a week she gets a “real bath” and the other 4 she gets a “play bath”. We just go through the motions and use water only so she will get used to the routine and get ready for sleep at night.
At the most for a really messy poopy diaper we use probably 4-5 wipes. Sometimes she looks totally clean and I do one last good wipe all over, she has a lot of poopy diapers that go up the front side which makes for a big mess., out the backside is messy too though
Congratulations!!
i have 6 month old twins a boy and a girl so it’s twice the craziness
For me I didnt know the difference between the night and day anymore. 24/7 the same thing: feeding, burping, changing, rocking, feeding, burping etc. When she was about 3 mo and started to really recognize me and smile it was easier. It was 6 yr ago and we are now 34 wks pregnant again. I know it will not be any easier. Good Luck and congrats.
I use like 5 wipes at the most in one poopy session. I do not use soap and water thats what wipes are for. You don’t want to irritate his area.
Breastfeeding.. go you! At first it will be very painful but hang in there, you will feel the difference in about a week. The nurses will tell you to wake the baby up every 2 hours to feed him. I only did it until my milk supply was good.. then when he is asleep.. LET HIM SLEEP.. he will let you know if he is hungry.
Breastfed babies will usually.. eat then either poop/wet a diaper afterwards. I only use one or two wipes during a changing session (use them.. don’t be scared to fold it in half and use the other side too.. you will be able to save on the wipes by doing this!). And as somebody previously said, you might go through more than one diaper in a changing session.
I bathe my baby in the morning/right around noon when it’s warm in the house. Use a little bit of soap and warm water (spongebathe at first). They said to do it every 2-3 days but After about a week I was already giving him a bath everyday. If your baby has a problem spitting up just take a warm washcloth and wipe his mouth off afterward.. trust you will smell it if you don’t lol.
Cuddling time is up to you. My mom used to yell at me because I let the baby sleep on me for hours at a time lol.
Oh and be careful.. boys do like to pee unexpectedly.. good luck.
at the begining baby sleeps and eats most of the time… u change diapers when they r dirty.. pretty often at the begining… use as many wipes as u need to get him clean… one washcloth per use… start with washing the face and go down… use baby soap and very very little at the begining… congrats good luck…….. u will kno what to do its not hard… my boy is 7 months now
my baby is 3 1/2 weeks old right now… and the first week i was home with him, our day consisted of feeding every 2-3 hours by the clock to try to get him back to his birth-weight, and in between he would sleep. he was very rarely awake the first week or so. this past week he has begun to stay awake for about an hour or so after each daytime feeding, then napping for about an hour before waking up to eat again (still eating every 2-3 hours during the day. he goes 4 hours 2x at night). i sleep when i can, but find it harder to do so when you have things you need to get done.
as far as diapers go, he poops about 5 or 6 times a day, usually when he gets up from sleeping after each feeding. on a small poop i use about 3, and on a blow-out poop, i use about 5, but thats on a rare occasion. i don’t use soap and water, i just use pampers sensitive wipes. and, be prepared for sometimes using 2 diapers a changing session and for changing lots of clothes… it doesn’t happen so much anymore, but the first 2 weeks he was home he would pee all over himself when i took his diaper down, and it didn’t matter how quickly i replaced the diaper… he’d have gotten it all over everything. occasionally, he’d pee right as i was putting the new diaper on… thus the need for a second diaper in a changing.
i sponge-bathed my son every other day for the first week and a half until his umbilical stump and circumcision healed. i was going to continue the every other day bathing schedule… but i’ve come to realize that my baby has a rather sweaty head, especially when he sleeps on my chest (like he usually does because he is very colicky at night and rocking him and sleeping with him on me is the only thing that keeps him asleep), so i think i will be bathing him every day from now on…
IN the begininf if you are going to breastfeed his poops will be really light and watery. So you will only really need two wipes to get it all clean.
No soap and water… that is what wipes are for.
9 months! How excited!
