I have a question about bathing my fancy white russian dwarf hamster, Renesmee. Okay I have given her 3 baths before using a very small amount of regular hand soap because we don’t have baby soap. I was wondering if thats okay to use hand soap, and I also wanted to know if it was okay if i want to use bath gel on it? Because I found this bath gel that smells really good and i wanted to know if its okay to use it, and i dont want to hurt it.

I’ve Been Bathing My 10 Month Old, And Rubbing Lotion On Him Every Night Before Bed.?

His skin just started feeling rough and bumpy on his calves, on his tricepts, and on the outter sides of his thighs. It might be dry skin. But why would dry skin start, when I’ve been putting lotion on him every night before I put his pajamas on? Here are some options of why but please dont ‘assume’ it’s one of these unless you know it is. I hope someone has the real reason. 1. I’ve been making his bath warmer than usual lately since it’s winter, and I want his tub to stay warmer longer. 2. He has been spending more time in the bath playing lately- maybe like1/2 hour or a little more. 3. It is winter, and ‘maybe’ the baby lotion just isn’t thick enough to work. 4. I put his pajamas on before the lotion soaks in all the way, and maybe it gets wiped off, or it is too wet on his skin to be covered so quickly. 5. I think I heard you shouldnt leave the baby sitting in soapy water too long cause it will dry him out. (Well that last one could make sense), but the solution ‘they say’ to that is to immediatly put lotion on him after his bath, but I do that! I hope it is dry skin, and not a rash. It is totally skin color, not red. But I noticed his cheeks were rough the same, but his cheeks were red. Not a fever cause he wasnt hot or anything. If it is dry skin, I’d like to know whats causing it and stop it. I also heard that some moisturizers can dry out your skin more if you dont use it frequently enough. I wonder if that’s true.

Hey everyone, I am wondering when you start using baby shampoo on a newborn? I read you should not bathe them (except for a sponge bath) till their umb stump falls off. After that though…do you just use a baby body wash? I’m just confused..Also, when can you start using baby lotion? Thank you

I have a couple of cats and they get to go outside (we live out in the country) and for the last couple of days I have noticed that one two of them have something oily on their backs and they haven’t cleaned it off. I have never had to give a cat a bath and i think i should with these two to see if it helps. I was wondering if anyone knows if it is okay to use a puppy shampoo on them or a baby shampoo since i don’t have any cat shampoo at the moment. Thanks!

I have two females. I have bathed them before and I usually do every 3-5 months because one of my girls always pees on herself and turns her fur yellow and the other had skin problems.
Whats your opinion on bathing them, and guinea pig shampoo vs baby shampoo?

I think it is time for a professional grooming (mostly because I am too afraid to trim her nails myself for fear of hurting her). What do you think of the Petsmart grooming place? I would be going to the one is SE Portland, Oregon if that makes a difference.

I heard that there are speacial washing machine that can bath babies/ children.
They say that what u should do is just sit your baby in a special chair in the machine, and the pipe will sprinkle water and soap to the baby, dry them with towel and pour some baby oil and powder into them, and cloth them.
What is it called?
Where can I buy them?

Does it REALLY matter what kind of shampoo I use? I have tearless kitten shampoo, but couldn’t I also use Johnson and Johnson tearless baby shampoo? Does anyone know if there is a reason why people shampoo cannot be used on dogs or cats?
My dog is a Shi Tzu, and so has hair, not fur.
