i dont have baby shampoo or a brush cleaner and i dont want to go out and buy any, so could i just use dove soap? because people say that regular soap is too harsh and won’t make the bristles soft, but dove soap is like part moisturizer isnt it?and its more gentle. plus i use it as a cleanser for my face and it works well.
btw, how often should i clean my brushes? once a month? or once a week?

i have so much questionss.
1. Is cleaning your makeup brush with shampoo called deep cleaning? if not, what exactly is required to “deep” clean your brushes?
2. Is it bad to clean your brush with shampoo everyday?
3. What to use to clean face makeup brushes everyday? if you use baby shampoo to clean your brushes everyday, wouldnt that be classified as “deep” cleaning your brushes?
thanks so much.!!! im soooooo lost. ><
oh, and youre here to help me, im here to help you too.

Well i’ve been meaning to clean my makeup sponge and brushes with baby shampoo. that’s really all i have to clean them with, unless makeup remover counts. Can someone please give me step by step instructions on how to clean them, i’ve never cleaned them before and i don’t want to get break outs.

If a brush hasn’t been used before, do you think it would be enough to add a few drops of baby shampoo in a bowl of water and then just gently swish the brush in that solution for about 15 seconds? I also lightly brushed the the bristles on the bottom of the bowl a few times to ‘agitate’ it a little more in the solution. Was that thorough enough if the brushes are new?
Thanks for your help

I love my brushes and I want to take care of them but I don’t know what the best technique is, some people say to use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. While others say to use a baby shampoo. I’ve even heard of people using a mild dish soap. Then drying them is a different story some say to hang the brushes upside down while some say to lay them flat on a paper towel overnight. What works best for you? All your input is appreciated.

I’ve heard people say they use baby shampoo, liquid hand soap, regular shampoo, antibacterial soap. Should i invest in a makeup brush cleaner or is baby shampoo and all the other things fine. I was thinking about using baby shampoo since it’s delicate enough for a baby. I have EcoTools brushes so they’re not animal hair. What would be best to use.
