When You Would Visit The Doctor Did They Ever Give You Gifts? (a Baby Blanket, Or Books?)?

*** I was on medical when I was pregnant the first time, and where I got pre-natal check-ups, they used to give us something everytime I would visit. Like a baby spoon, or blanket, or books, or baby shampoo… etc…
So, I was wondering if they do that too when you visit a “regular” doctor. Or did they just do that because they figured I was poor?

Is It Ever Necessary To Visit A Doctor For Sunburn?

Sorry in advance to the baby names contacts…
I’m not sure how intense this is, or if I’m just a serious wimp when it comes to sunburn… Three weeks ago, a group of youth from my church went to Colorado to do some work projects for people there. The first project we did was painting a house…
I’ve been taking some medication stuff for my face (via pills), and one of the major side effects is sunburn. So, I managed to intensely burn my face, ears, and half of my hands during the painting job even though I used massive amounts of sunscreen (as in I would put more on every half hour or so because I could feel myself burning and didn’t want that).
So, that was three weeks ago… my face and ears have mostly gone through all of the peeling and painful stage, and are relatively back to normal… but my hands (only the thumb halves on both of my hands are burnt for some reason) are still extremely red and swollen and sensitive. I can move them and everything and it’s relatively not painful unless I try to clench my fists. They’ve also peeled, several times, and are continuing to peel…still. Anything “sharp” that touches them is intensified by means of pain… For example, I’ll be trying to write with a pen / pencil and school and will touch my hand with the little clip on the edge meant to hold the writing utensil to paper… So it mostly just burns and feels like my hands have been cut or something. Also, I usually can’t even bear being outside in the sun because of it… Any sunlight or even warmth irritates the sunburn and makes it burn extremely… I’ve tried covering them, but that makes the burning hurt even more.
People who have seen them have told me to go to the doctor, but my parents won’t take me because of money… My mom did call the doctor and asked him what to do for it…he said just to use aloe vera stuff and lotion, which I’ve been doing constantly for the past 3 weeks.
So, I’m not sure how easy it is to diagnose someone over just trying to read symptoms from text, but is this something I should look in to more or should I just keep trying to wait it out?
Thanks!

Has Anyone Ever Heard Of Or Seen A Fake Baby Doll That Acts Like A Real Baby?

I watched this soap opera once, where this woman bought a baby doll to practice being a mother on, since she was pregnant. It was so realistic- it cried at irregular times, needed to be “fed”, changed, held, and burped.
Has anyone heard of this?
If so, do you know where would you get one?
Lol, I want one if I ever get pregnant. =D

Have You Ever Known A Baby To Regularly Smell Bad?

I am a nanny to a 13 month old girl and 4 year old boy. The boy does not smell bad in any way, however the baby really STINKS! Its her head/hair area, not sweat, I have checked her pits and they don’t stink. Its like a moth balls/wet wool/wet dog/strange chemical type smell. I always thought her parents used some nasty shampoo on her, but I have started giving them baths and the soap the parents gave me is just normal baby soap and the boy uses the same soap and doesn’t stink. She does have dander, if that makes a diffrence. I have never ever seen a kid stink like this, has anyone else? She only smells good right after a bath with the shampoo sent still in her hair, its so bad I dont like to hold her! The parents don’t seem to notice it.

Have You Ever Felt Put Down As A Mother Because Of Your Age?

I’m frustrated.
I went to my boyfriends house for a barbecue yesterday, and his whole family was so sweet, except his aunt. I was already feeling out of place, considering that my son is not his child.. but I managed.
We got there, and were out by the pool/beach and I was putting sunscreen on Brayden.. she continued to tell me that babies dont get sunburnt! Yes, those are her direct words. I insisted on “being safe” and putting some baby sunscreen on him.. and she kept telling me a little bit of sun wont hurt him. I’m fair skinned, my son is fair skinned, and I wasn’t putting up with a sunburned baby!
Then we were all eating, and we had french fries, and burgers and stuff.. I took some of the inside of the french fry (they were salted, and thick, so there was a good amount inside of them), and mushed it up & gave him a little bit of that. She told me.. “You should actually feed him BABY food, he IS a baby…” while there was baby food on the table, I just didn’t want to make a mess, and I was trying to eat first, and it wasn’t his lunch time! So, I started feeding him, and I mix rice cereal with his food (doctor approved), and she blurts out “Your obviously not a good mother, you have no idea what your doing!” Everyone kind of gasped. I didn’t stay too long after that. I finished feeding my son, and said good bye and left. My boyfriends mother texted me apologizing.. and he felt bad too.. But I was pissed! I’m sure it was my age, because my boyfriends sister and his niece were there, and this lady said nothing to them..
Any personal stories? LOL! I feel better for venting.
