I have johnson & johnson baby shampoo and think if I wash her my older cat won’t hiss at her anymore (he’s been doing so since the kitten had vet visits yesterday).
Is it bad to wash them?

Like, could I use L’Oreal kids shampoo, or Sunsilk, or Herbal Essences, or like Baby body wash, or a dishsoap, or something?

My husband rescues the kitten (6-8 weeks old) from the highway. He saw a truck run over it (didn’t hit it), but the force of the air threw the kitten to the curb, bounced off, and rolled back into the highway before he picked her up and brought her home. The kitten doesn’t have any injuries or broken bones, but we do plan on taking it to the vet to be sure. I’ve already given her a bath with baby soap and I plan on giving her another one with Dawn to get rid of the fleas. In the meantime, I’d like to give her something to play with. We don’t have any cat toys around, but our 2 babies have a ton of toys that they do not play with. I also remember my mom used to give our kittens empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls to play with. Is there any other common household items that will be safe for her to play with?

Usually u shouldn’t wash cats/kittens. But since there is oil around the ears then that is a good idea. You shouldn’t use anytype of shampoo or dishsoap since the water and soap can get into the kittens ears. You should get some washing wipes that are made for animals. Then just rub around the oily area. That should do the trick!

I’m gonna give my kitty a bath cuz she has kitty poo all down her leg. =/ icky… haha
So I’m gonna try to give her a bath. would Johnsons baby shampoo be ok to use on her? or would it irritate her skin and be bad if se licked it off. I’m assuming since its for babys it shud be fine. she is about 10 weeks old.

LOL You bring back memories. My Siamese boy cat crawled in the broiler (it was not on) when I opened the door to clean it. He got a nice greasy stripe down his back. Reverse skunk! I left him dirty till my husband came home to see him, then I gave him his first bath. I just used human shampoo because I had to get that grease off.
By the way, I have a friend that shows cats. Show cats do get bathed. Water will NOT hurt your cat as long as they don’t get a chill. Soap won’t hurt if you rinse thoroughly. I had a vet that said don’t use dandruff shampoo with zinc like Head and Shoulders.
Every one of my Siamese cats has been bathed. I do it monthly to reduce allergens. There coats look and feel great. I have lots of people ask me why my cats are so soft.
