Do you personally put SS on your baby every day, or just days with prolonged exposure to sun? My baby girl is 6 and a half months, and I’m not sure.

What Type Of Sunscreen To Use While Pregnant?

I am currently 24 weeks pregnant and will be going to the beach on the 4th of July weekend. I am an EASY burner to begin with, learned my lesson the hard way when I was pregnant with my son, so want to make sure I am using some good sunscreen and bug repellant. I love the smell of Coppertone, does anyone know if they make Coppertone w/ bug repellant in it? Especially the spray on kind? I know I can’t use a certain ingredient while pregnant…maybe deet? I worked at Babies R Us a few years ago and remember making sure I was selling the safe stuff, but it’s been so long and I can’t remember anymore. Anyone who knows feel free to answer. Thanks!!

Where Can I Get The Safest And Highest Spf Sunscreen For My Daughter Who Is 1?

I’ve been getting ready for months now to go to the beach. I even bought my daughter a baithing suit, warm beach clothes, a hat and a tent for the outdoors.
Though I’m still going to have to buy a really good beach umbrella to protect her while out of the tent… If you know where to get one of those too… that would be so great.
The one thing i need for her is a safe high SPF sunscreen that is trustworthy and been used on babies before.
Thanks!

I need to find a sunblock for my cat. She’s pure white & LOVES to sit in the window & watch the birds! I know there’s a brand of pet-specific SPF on the market, but I’m wondering if there are any “people SPFs” that are safe to use on animals? Possibly a baby product? And if not, what ingredients make them unsafe? thanks!!

What Are The Ill Effects Of Sunscreen On A Newborn?

Ok, I’ve read the AAPA statement regarding this matter and they warn against using sunscreen on newborns because 1) it clogs pours, and 2) more of the chemicals are absorbed due to the higher surface to mass ratio of babies as well as the nature of newborn skin. I understand the first point, and I also understand that more chemicals can be absorbed into the skin BUT what I cannot get an answer to is WHY the particular chemicals in sunscreen would be harmful if too much is absorbed. I know chemicals are bad for babies but I’m interested in the particular effects of sunscreen chemicals on a newborn.

im 13 have pretty pale skin, and im very sensitive is this a good skincare routine?
morning: wash with cetaphil gentle skin cleanser, moisturize with clinique dramatically different moisturizer ge/, protect with clinique city block spf 25.
night: wash with cetaphil, benzaclin for acne.
body: shower every other day, wash with ivory soap. every day apply coppertone oil free sunscreen
Should I wear sunscreen every day, even in the winter?
My face started getting pink when i turned 13, that’s also around the time i started using acne product, could it be puberty, or acne product, or getting a dark tan on pale skin from going to spain?
Also, for my hair is it ok to still be using baby shampoo, it makes my hair sooo soft with the bed head moisture maniac conditioner
I wear like no makeup, sometimes a tinted moisturizer or concealer, but very rarely, I only really use eyeliner and mascara, I never straigten or put anything in my hair but shampoo and conditioner.
Thanks

Son Is Emberassed About Having Sunscreen Applied On Him At The Beach?

So this is our time of month me, my 3 boys, and my sister and her 2 kids all go to Mexico for 2 weeks. We’ve been doing this for the past 5 years now. While we are at our hotel about to go to the beach for the day, my sister and I lather up all the kids in sunscreen. I get my own 3 boys, she gets her 2. My oldest is 14 and doesn’t have THAT much of a problem with me doing it at the hotel but he will sometimes complain, but the real problem is when we have been at the beach for a couple hours and its time to reapply, I have him come to our umbrella is set up and I reapply sunscreen on him and get him covered again. He gets SUPER embarrassed while I’m doing it, he constantly says ‘I can do it myself I’m not a baby” or “people are going to see theres way too many people around and they will think I’m a little kid!”
The problem is, my oldest is extremely fair skinned and burns like paper, so I have to be real careful. Last summer I let him go to the swimming pool with one of his friends and I had to leave for work early, so I left the susncreen on the counter and told him to use it, when he got back he was toasted burnt…So I won’t let it happen again.
Honesltly, what would be the best situation? Its totally true and I’ve even seen it that at the beach basically mom is doing the exact same for their kids, especially at mexico. I’m going to show my son the answers, to let him know its not a big deal. Women or mothers, do you see it being a big deal? Would you do the same with your kid?
